Fair Hills Resort - Hootenanny for Families

Memorable tunes....that's what the Hootenany has been for guests and staff for more than 30 years! For example, "Pelican Lake" (lyrics below) has been in the Fair Hills Hootenanny since the early 1970's. I remember creating the choreography and adjusting the words to match Fair Hills. The first time we ever did the song we had to stop half way through and start all over again, because we couldn't remember all the words or the choreography. Now generations of guests join the staff in the song!!

Hootenany

"2-1-8--8-4-7-7-6-3-8" Ask any staff member or guest the telephone number of the resort, and they will sing the song back to you. Here's the melody of a song I heard while in university. I thought that this would be a great way to sing the Fair Hills phone number, and since 1975, it has been part of the opening of the show.

"The Monotone Lawnboy," "The Rooster Song," "Dadadadadada," "Pencils," "The Gunfighter," "Oh, Lord, It's Hard to Be Humble," Dave's Sing A Long and the "Wide Mouth Frog" are just a few of the hundreds of songs that are part of Fair Hills musical and entertainment heritage.

Join us on Tuesday nights in the summer for our smorgasbord and show! We look forward to making more memories for your family!

PELICAN LAKE!
Let’s go to:
PELICAN LAKE, it’s the scene you should make with your little ones.
Keep it in mind, if you’re looking to find, a place in the summer sun.
You can swim in the pool, you can snack in the cool, or you can rent a canoe.
(Can you canoe?!?!) At PELICAN LAKE, you’ll be able to make, the way vacationers do!
Verse:

Take Highway 59, and you keep on drivin’, ‘til you’re out of the city ('til you’re out of the city)
Where the air is fine, with the sweet smell of pine, and the countryside’s pretty,
You’ll see daffodils, peekin’ over the hills, and a honey lovin’ mama bear (Even Larry)
Take a right on the road, just to lighten your load, and in a minute, you’ll be there:
Back to Refrain on top.
