"Pelican Lake" song celebrates 35 years!
The famous theme song of Fair Hills, "Pelican Lake" celebrates 35 years this summer. We first did the song in the hootenannies of 1972. Larry heard the original song, "Indian Lake" performed by the group, the Cowsills. He added choreography and adapted the words to fit Fair Hills. The first time we did the song, we couldn't remember all the words, so we had to stop the song and start over again, right during the show!
Now even the guests know the song and join us in singing and dancing "Let's Go to Pelican Lake" in the show and in the dining room on Friday nights in the dining room, too! To celebrate the 35 years of the song, guests and staff are taking photos of themselves doing "the Pelican" around the world. Send in your photos to join our Pelican Gallery!
